Life Story

I accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior as a young child. However, as a teenager and young adult, I lacked someone in my life to disciple me. I spent my early years living for myself. It wasn’t until I was married and had my first child that I truly began living my life for Christ. Those prodigal days formed me into who I am today. I have been running hard after God ever since.

I began serving in church ministry in 2001. I have served as a worship leader, children’s teacher/director, and occasionally as a preacher. I have a Master of Divinity from Liberty University and a Master of Science in management from the U.S. Naval Postgraduate School.

My wife Cheryl and I met in California. We have been married for nearly 30 years. We have three grown children: Ryan, Leah, and Zachary. In our free time, we enjoy camping in our Airstream trailer.

I was born in Ohio but have moved twenty times in my life. We are happy to be finally settled in Bel Air (but my citizenship is in heaven!) I always wanted to be in the military ever since I was a teenager. I spent 23 years as an officer in the U.S. Army, retiring from military service in 2012. It is a blessing to apply my life experiences now to the mission of the church to make disciples.
